March 8-15--County Clerk publishes the notice of candidate filing deadline for the May 21 election during this week in the official newspaper(s) of the political subdivision.  Section 34-1405, Idaho Code.

March 22—Last day for filing declarations of candidacy until 5:00 p.m. for candidates for the May 21 election with the clerk of the political subdivision.  This filing is for political subdivision candidates.  Section 34-1404, Idaho Code

April 5—Last day declaration of intent to be filed by a write-in candidate with the clerk of the district for the May 21 election.  This filing is for political subdivision candidates.  Section 34-1407, Idaho Code.

April 5—Last day a candidate for the May 21 election to withdraw before the May 21 election.  Section 34-1405A, Idaho Code.

April 19—County Clerk to mail absentee ballots for the May 21 election to voters who requested absentee ballots.

April 26—Last day to pre-register to vote with the County Clerk until 5:00 p.m. for the May 21 election.  Registration closes in those districts holding a May 21 Election.  Election Day Registration is available.  Section 34-308, Idaho Code.

April 27-May 7—County Clerk to mail ballots for the May 21 election to voters in designated Mail Ballots Precincts.  Section 34-308, Idaho Code.

May 15—Last day for an application for a mail-in absentee ballot to be received by the County Clerk not later then 5:00 p.m. for the May 21 election.  Section 34-1002. Idaho Code.

    Registering to Vote

    • Latah County Auditor's Office, room 101, Latah County Courthouse.
    • City Hall's in Bovill, Deary, Juliaetta, Kendrick, Genesee, Moscow, Potlatch and Troy.
    • Applications to register to vote are available at the Public Library, the DMV (located in the Eastside Marketplace).
    • To be able to vote in any election you must register to vote 30 days before the date of the election.**
    • Registration will be closed 30 days prior to any election.

    Additional Instructions for:

    ** If you are not registered 30 days prior to an election, but can prove residency for 30 days, you can register and vote absentee or register and vote on election day.
