July 31

First day to file beginning at 8 a.m. as a candidate for the CITY ELECTION to be held on November 3. Filing is with the CITY CLERK. (Sec. 50-410, Idaho Code)

Last day to return absentee ballots to the County Clerk's Elections Office by 8:00 p.m. for the August 25 election. (Sec. 34-1005, Idaho Code)

Filing continues for all recreation, cemetery and fire districts for the November 3, 2015 Consolidated Election.

Petitions and Declarations must be filed with the Clerk of the political subdivision no later than 5:00 p.m. on September 4, 2015.

Cities will NOT begin their filing process until 8:00 a.m. on August 24, 2015.

Forms for City Elections are available at the office of the individual City Clerk and must be filed with the same City Clerk no later than 5:00 p.m. on September 4, 2015.

Note: Signatures on petitions should be certified by the County Clerk prior to filing them with the Clerk of the Political Subdivision or City Clerk. Please make sure the following are included on the petitions and only one person should collect the signatures:

1-Signature of registered voter (no half-signed half-printed signatures)
2-Printed name of registered voter (no nick names)
3-Complete residence address including City and Unit number
4-Date of the signature by the registered voter

Signatures must be from the required subdistrict, city limits, or district area of the candidate. Signatures of unregistered voters will not be counted!

  • Starting a few weeks prior to the election you can vote absentee in the Auditor's office.
  • Approximately a month prior to the election sample ballots will be available in the Latah County Courthouse, in room #101, the Auditor's office.

Registering to Vote

  • Latah County Auditor's Office, room 101, Latah County Courthouse.
  • City Hall's in Bovill, Deary, Juliaetta, Kendrick, Genesee, Moscow, Potlatch and Troy.
  • Applications to register to vote are available at the Public Library, the DMV (located in the Eastside Marketplace).
  • To be able to vote in any election you must register to vote 30 days before the date of the election.**
  • Registration will be closed 30 days prior to any election.

** If you are not registered 30 days prior to an election, but can prove residency for 30 days, you can register and vote absentee or register and vote on election day.
