This position provides administrative support, clerical and reception duties for the Probation & Youth Services Department. Duties include: answering phone; filing; proof reading/editing reports; data entry and retrieval into IJOS (Idaho Juvenile Offender System), including police referrals, probation violations, court orders, and urinalysis results for purposes of year-end statistics; assisting with orientation and training of new employees; maintaining client billing system utilizing Quickbooks; receipting and depositing fines and fees; and other general office duties. May be requested to serve or participate in various Latah County programs and committees.
Associate Degree or Certificate of equivalent specialized training; and/or one (1) year experience in a related position. Must have good written and verbal communication skills; be able to multi-task and work independently with little supervision; maintain confidentiality; and a wide range of computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Quickbooks.
The position is full-time and includes a generous benefit package. Salary range is $29,184 - 40,344 D.O.E. The Latah County Board of Commissioners is soliciting proposals from attorneys for the position of Latah County Public Defender for a two (2) year period commencing on October 1, 2015.
The Public Defender provides legal representation to indigent adult criminal defendants, juveniles petitioned pursuant to the Idaho Youth Corrections Act, respondents and/or children in Child Protective Act and termination of parental rights proceedings and respondents in voluntary hospitalization proceedings (including proceedings under the Children’s Mental Health Act).
The Public Defender is an independent contractor of Latah County. The successful applicant must be an attorney at law licensed to practice in the State of Idaho and must maintain an office in Latah County. The Latah County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for the positions of Detention Deputy. Successful applicants will be offered a position based upon current openings available.
Applicants must be 21 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent. Candidates must pass written test, physical agility test and oral interview.
