Brief Job Description: Provides part-time clerical support for the Extension faculty, staff, and their outreach programs conducted in Latah County within the framework of the policies and directives of the United States Department of Agriculture, the University of Idaho, the Extension System and the Board of Latah County Commissioners.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma.
  • Willing to learn new tasks as necessary.
  • Computer competencies to perform office functions efficiently and accurately (i.e. MS Word 2007 Office Suite).
  • At least 12 months clerical experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly developed organizational skills.
  • Ability to track and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to work additional hours during the Latah County Fair and other events as needed on rare weekends/evenings.
  • Able to work with little supervision.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees.
  • Pleasant and courteous demeanor

Job Title: System Administrator

The Latah County Information Technology Services Office is accepting applications for the position of System Administrator.

The System Administrator is responsible for installing, modifying and making repairs to the hardware and software of the networked servers and workstations.

Applicants must have 2 years experience administering networks and computer systems, a bachelor’s degree or experience and qualifications which are accepted in ITS as equivalent, knowledge of network architecture including software settings, wiring, TCP/IP Network Protocol and network switches, skilled with installation and maintenance of Windows Operating system workstations and servers, including active directory architecture, and MS Office, extensive knowledge of security including firewall set-up and maintenance and implementing preventative measures to deny network attacks from both external and internal sources, experience with Linux/Unix and IBM with programming experience preferred, employee must be physically fit and have the ability to lift fifty pounds, read, walk, climb, balance, grasp, kneel, crouch, reach, pull, bend, and stretch.

Successful applicants will undergo a background investigation.

The position is full-time and includes a generous benefit package; medical, dental and optical insurance for employee as well as a portion for dependent coverage. Benefit package also includes PERSI retirement plan, vacation, and sick leave. System Administrator Salary range is $40,260 - $55,728 per year, DOE. EOE/ADA.

Job Title: Legal Assistant

This is a full-time position, $2,432 to $2,664/month.

Job Title: Latah County Sheriff’s Office Detention Deputy

The Latah County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for the positions of Detention Deputy. Successful applicants will be offered a position based upon current openings available.

Applicants must be 21 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent. Candidates must pass written test, physical agility test and oral interview. Successful applicants will undergo an extensive background investigation to include polygraph, psychological examination and medical examination. Successful applicants must be able to attain Idaho POST certification within 12 months of hire date or already have POST certification.

The positions are full-time and include a generous benefit package; medical, dental and optical insurance for employee as well as a portion for dependent coverage. Benefit package also includes PERSI retirement plan, vacation, sick leave, overtime/compensatory time as well as $1500 flat fringe per year. Patrol Deputy Salary range $35,088 to $48,612 per year, DOE. EOE/ADA; and Detention Deputy Salary range $31,824 to $43,872 per year, DOE. EOE/ADA.
