Job Title: Summer Maintenance and Grounds

Department: Fair Grounds

Pay: $12.02

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am to 12pm. (Hours may increase as needed.)

Dates: May 15 to September 29, 2017 (approximate).
Dates may vary due to weather and work load.

The Latah County Fairgrounds and Events Center is accepting applications for the position of Summer Maintenance and Grounds. This is a part-time summer position, 20 hours/week or more (depending on availability and schedules).

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have valid driver’s license.
  • Must have experience operating equipment such as: commercial riding mower, push mower, weed eater, blower, and pressure washer.
  • Grass mowing
  • Tree and brush trimming and cleanup
  • Grass watering, sprinkler changing, and hose moving
  • Landscaping to include planting, watering, and weeding
  • Trash collection
  • General maintenance and clean-up of fairgrounds and buildings
  • Interior and exterior painting
  • Event preparation
  • Fair preparation and Fair clean-up

Job Title: LCYAC Prevention Coordinator

Status: Open until March 31, 2017

Department: Latah County Youth Advocacy Council

Pay: $17.75 - $19.43 per hour, DOE

Hours: 40 hours/week

The Prevention Coordinator provides staff support to the Latah County Youth Advocacy Council and serves as the liaison to local youth development groups. Is also the administrator for the Drug Free Communities Grant.


  • Preferred Degree in Social Work, Human Services or related field.
  • 1.5 years' experience in working with at-risk youth or community organizing.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and work with people.
  • Ability to facilitate large groups of people and guide in problem solving and decision making.
  • Ability to work with and adapt educational and research materials for use in youth programs.

Job Title: Administrative Assistant/Driver’s License Examiner

Department: Sheriff's Office

Minimum Starting Salary: $14.43/hour

Hours: Part-time

Description: The Latah County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for a part-time Administrative Assistant to the Sheriff and Driver’s License Examiner.

Salary Range: $14.43 to $21.58 per hour, DOE.

Duties: The primary job duties include performing a variety of administrative and clerical services to the Sheriff and serve s as a part-time Driver’s License Examiner.


  • Applicants must be 21 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent, graduation from an accredited program in secretarial studies or one (1) year of prior experience in clerical function, which included typing may be substituted in place of the secretarial program.

  • Applicants must be able to type a minimum of 40 wpm and be able to operate a variety of office machines, including computers, cash register, printer, copier, scanner, shredder, and ten key. Additionally, successful applicants must undergo a background investigation.
