Job Title: Housekeeper (full time)

Pay Range: $24,036 to $34,596 year

Job Summary

To assist Maintenance Director by performing a variety of housekeeping duties, to achieve a mutual goal of providing a safe, clean and comfortable environment for the patrons and employees of Latah county. This position is under the supervision of the Assistant Director in the Maintenance Director's absence.

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential
  • Perform floor care duties such as sweeping, wet mopping, carpet spot removal and vacuuming.
  • Clean office spaces, courtrooms, hallways, etc. by dusting, emptying trash containers, cleaning and caring for all woodwork, wash windows, dust blinds and overhead lighting, etc. (Desk tops exempt).
  • Replace lightbulbs and clean various light fixtures.
  • Clean restrooms including toilets, urinals, sinks, floors, walls stall partitions, and windows.
  • Clean all building touch surfaces (e.g. handrails, drinking fountains, door handle areas, vending machines, public telephone, etc.).
  • Clean building lobbies and entrances.
  • Clean building exterior by sweeping, picking up trash and other tasks as directed.
  • Maintains security of building by ensuring that building is locked after work days and special meetings.
  • Inform Maintenance Director of supply needs, mechanical failures, etc.
  • Must demonstrate self-motivated and initiative to complete work as required.
  • Perform essential duties and responsibilities efficiently, accurately and safely.
Marginal
  • Supports and implements Latah County recycling process.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Director.
Qualifications
  • High school education or equivalent.
  • One (1) year custodial/housekeeping experience required.
  • Knowledge of housekeeping chemicals helpful.
  • Communication skills helpful.
Physical Requirements

Must be physically fit and have the ability to read, walk, climb, balance, grasp, kneel, crouch, reach, pull, bend, stretch, and lift (approximately 50 pounds).

Job Title: Certified Tax Appraiser

Department: Latah County Assessor’s Office

Salary: $30,000 - $34,000+

Hours: 40 hours/week

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree and at least one year of work experience.
  • Must have valid Idaho drivers’ license; must pass background investigation.
  • Good mathematical skills (calculating areas and percentages) and computer proficiency.
  • Strong verbal communications skills to effectively interact with public.
  • Must adhere to a professional code of ethics as a sworn Deputy Assessor.
  • Must successfully complete Idaho tax appraisal certification within one year of employment.
Duties:
  • Performs appraisals of real property in Latah County for property tax assessment purposes.
  • Physically inspects and documents property characteristics, components and accessories.
  • Performs computer data entry and reviews property updates for accuracy and equitable market values utilizing computer-assisted mass appraisal system.
  • Interacts daily with property owners and members of the public to answer inquiries and address issues concerning property appraisals, assessments, and how assessments relate to property taxes.

Job Title: LCYAC Department Coordinator

Department: Latah County Youth Advocacy Council

Pay: $17.00 - $20.30 per hour, DOE

Hours: 32 hours/week or more (depending on availability and schedules)

Description:
The Prevention Coordinator provides staff support to the Latah County Youth Advocacy Council and serves as the liaison to local youth development groups. Is also the administrator for the Drug Free Communities Grant.

    Qualifications:

  • Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Human Services or related field.
  • One-and-a-half-years’ experience in working with at-risk youth or community organizing.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and work with people.
  • Ability to facilitate large groups of people and guide in problem solving and decision making.
  • Ability to work with and adapt educational and research materials for use in youth programs.
  • Computer competencies to perform office functions efficiently and accurately (i.e. MS Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Explorer).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
  • Valid Driver’s License and insurance.
  • Must be a Certified Prevention Specialist, graduate of the Idaho Prevention Institute, or have the ability to become certified within 6 months (per grant requirements).

Applicants must be 21 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent. Candidates must pass written test, physical agility test and oral interview. Successful applicants will undergo an extensive background investigation to include polygraph, psychological examination and medical examination. Successful applicants must be able to attain Idaho POST certification within 12 months of hire date or already have POST certification.

The positions are full-time and include a generous benefit package; medical, dental and optical insurance for employee as well as a portion for dependent coverage.
