The Latah County Sheriff’s Office Records Office is open from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday excluding holidays. If you are applying for a Visa or residency in another country, you will need to contact the Idaho State Police/Bureau of Criminal Identification.
Records requests are generally for either police reports or accident reports and must be made in writing. When completing your Request to Examine Public Records, please keep a few things in mind:

  • Current and on-ongoing investigations may not be available for release until they are completed and closed.
  • Records for investigations involving criminal charges are forwarded to the Prosecutors Office and may be available to you through the discovery process, or at the completion of the case. You may also be able to obtain criminal records through the court.
  • It can take up to 10 working days for complex or incomplete requests to be processed.
  • The Latah County Sheriff’s Office is not able to release information regarding cases from other agencies.

Registrant information

Sex Offender registrations and status changes are processed through the Records Office during regular business hours. The Records Office hours are 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday excluding holidays. Annual registrations and new registrations require fingerprinting that will be done at the Latah County Records department. Annual registrations and new registrations also require a trip to the Drivers Licensing, at the Latah County Annex, so your photograph can be taken. Drivers Licensing’s hours are 7:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday-Friday, excluding holidays.

Status changes, address changes or other notifications require the same registration forms be completed however there is NO fee and fingerprints and photos are not taken.

As of July 01, 2013, there will be an $80.00 fee (exact change or check) charged to cover costs of registration.
